About
Step-by-step how to create beautiful Japanese ink paintings of poppies, grasses, gentian, fennel, cyclamen, dandelion and thistles. In this course you will learn basic brush strokes, lines and ink marks to paint a selection of seven wild flowers and various grasses. You will learn the foundation of what makes a good composition in ink painting and be able to create your own painting using both black and colour. The simple and humble flowers and grasses that grow in abundance, have their precious place in the heart of Japanese art. They invite us to pay attention to the serene flow of life, and develop an observing eye and simplified approach to anything and everything that has life force in it, including grasses and small flowers. More so, each flower holds its own unique quality of well being. And so when painting a flower, one is invited to connect to the colour, shape, texture and essence of that flower and its healing qualities. Wild flowers offer us a glimpse into the magical, interdependent working of nature.
