- Hydrangeas and Butterflies
Learn to paint step-by-step beautiful hydrangeas and butterflies in ink and colour. In this lesson you will learn to paint hydrangea and butterflies. We will begin this tutorial practicing a variety of brush strokes, which you will use to paint a single hydrangea flower in ink - your first composition. You will then learn how to paint butterflies in various positions, to create a second composition. And in the third part of this lesson, we will explore mixing Japanese watercolours, together with your newly practiced brushstrokes, to create a colourful hydrangea and butterflies painting, your own third composition. You will learn about hydrangea and other summer flowers as they appear in Japanese Rinpa aesthetics. And enjoy listening to the meditative nature of the flower in a short special video.
